About:

Amna joined the lab in May 2022 as an undergraduate student in the Department of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences and continued to do her masters in Sep 2023.

Research Interests:

Amna is interested in studying resistance mechanisms displayed by soil microbes against different antibiotics. Her project entails discovering and characterizing a novel resistance enzyme responsible for the inactivation of the antibiotic novobiocin.
